A história do filme centra-se em Geirr, um homem que depois de sofrer um trágico acidente ficou paralisado e mergulhou numa profunda depressão. A sua crescente frustração é alimentada pelo excesso de Álcool e pela música de Johnny Cash que acompanham constantemente a sua deprimente rotina. Na tentativa de auxiliar o seu namorado, Tori convence Geirr a receber apoio psicológico de um Grupo de Pensamento Positivo que através de elementos que partilham histórias igualmente trágicas, tentam levantar a sua moral e mas ele rapidamente percebe que este grupo é perfeitamete inútil.

Svein and his buddy Dan is quite alone until the new girl in class suggests they take their roots its in the big pet contest. The problems come when Halvorsen runs away, and the newspapers write that both the hospital and the school must close because of an invasion of rats. Svein must make sure that no mom and dad find out that it's Svein and Halvorsen, who is to blame for all the fuss, because he might end up losing both Halvorsen and the opportunity to win the competition.
