Bimba Devi alias Yashodhara is a 2018 Sri Lankan Sinhala language epic, biographical drama film written and directed by professor Sunil Ariyaratne. This historical biographical film film depicts the life of princess Yashodhara, the wife of Prince Siddhartha.
Dedunu Akase is a 2017 Sri Lankan Sinhala romantic film directed by Priyantha Colombage and produced by EAP Network Swarnavahini Production. It stars Hemal Ranasinghe in the lead role, along with newcomers Chulakshi Ranatunga and Shanel Fernando, both professional models. The music was composed by Chitral Somapala. It is the 1288th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. Supporting actor Dasun Nishan committed suicide on 27 September 2017, prior to the screening of the film.[8][9] The muhurath ceremony was held at Galadari Hotel, Colombo.[10] The film has received both positive and negative reviews from critics.[11]

Gamarala
The 1st queen of the king dies in child birth, the prince survives. After the 2nd queen, gives birth to a new prince, she plots to kill the 1st prince, so that her son would get the crown after the king. A soldier senses this danger and ousts the prince to a rural village for survival. The village headman adopts the child without knowing the origin of the child. The prince gradually forgets his royalty, and grows up as a skillful and handsome farmer. After the death of the king, the soldier and religious leaders plan to bring the real prince to the crown.
Story based on a true incident. Terrorists massacre fifty seven people in a remote village in Sri Lanka. The ill trained, unorganized Home guards could not protect the Village. A brave army Major stationed in area awaiting retirement. A female voluntary teacher convinces the Major about his Extra/Additional responsibility and tells what use of his many gallantry medals if people next door sleep in jungle at night or farmers languish in hunger without being able to cultivate. The Major, through army, trains the Home guards, turn them into a formidable force who protect the village when terrorists launch next attack to wipe out village.

LTTE area leader
A Coincidental meeting of a Soldier and an Army officer at a dark night, in a forest burning with war, between Sri Lankan Army and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The Soldier's efforts born out of sheer respect to save the life of his critically wounded senior Officer become futile at the end. At the Senior officer's death, the soldier nagged constantly by his conscience and its questioning, feels that he too was responsible for the death of his Senior Officer. in the face of this, the soldier begins to probe into the past of the Senior Officer's life and engages in boundless sacrifice to bring justice to him, and in that process soldier gets Senior Officer's past wrongs corrected.
Sunil
Podi Eka, a village teenager without any education living with his poverty-stricken mother and sister. He cannot even write Amma (mother) Akka (sister) mama (me). Instead he draws three crosses on the wall in charcoal depicting the threesome. He works for his stepfather carrying water to the illicit brewery and experiences the rape of his sister by the stepfather, the bootlegger and the consequent suicide of his sister. He murders his stepfather in vengeance and spends 17 years in jail, returning to the village as an adult to help his uncle in farming and cattle rearing. He is still called Podi Eka. His attempts to start a new life fail on account of the tragic death of his mother and his own brutish desires.

Music composed by renowned musician Edward Jayakody. It is the 1077th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. The film earned Rs. 9 million collections from the first 17 days of screening.
