Two men take shelter in a derelict mansion situated in the countryside during a storm. One of the men suddenly becomes aware that he once visited this mansion in a past life; he recounts a story about when he was Anand, a painter, who fell in love with a tribal girl named Madhumati.
An impoverished man and his young son travel to Calcutta and look for work, in order to make money that'll save their ancestral land from being seized by a corporation.
The movie revolves around a young mischievous boy named Mirza who is sent away to his uncle's home for further studies. Mirza is passionate about archery and is an expert at it. He starts living with his uncle where he meets his uncle's daughter Sahiban.
