O filme narra as aventuras do imigrante italiano Saverio Leonetti, que chegou a Porto Alegre, no extremo sul do Brasil, no começo do século XX. Disposto a marcar época, cria a primeira fábrica de gramofones no Brasil e o segundo selo discográfico a imprimir vinis na América Latina. Entre Porto Alegre e Buenos Aires cria os primeiros laços entre a música regional brasileira, nos primórdios do samba, com o tango argentino.
Amós is a sailor and owner of a ship. He is impatient with the arrival of his uncle who returns from the Soviet Union, after having exiled there after the Civil War. They have no time to meet because the old man unexpectedly dies. Amos knows, thanks to the letters his mother received, that his uncle had a treasure. However, this one is not among the objects that were in the old man's room.
Angelica Zamora is a famous actress and singer, ignored by her three children Julio, Clotilde and Felipe. After learning of a serious illness that leaves her little time to live, her children and their friends intend to make her spend her best moments without being aware of the disease she suffers. Julio will even propose to someone to please his mother.
