O filme é uma obra em movimento. David Thewlis interpreta um homem sem lar e sem perspectivas que estupra uma mulher e foge, invadindo e mudando os rumos das vidas de várias pessoas que encontra. Thewlis vira carrasco, bálsamo, incitador, vítima, dependendo de quem cruza seu caminho. Parece um anjo/demônio boêmio que vem para provocar reações.
