Um professor universitário decide fazer uma excursão por Akihabara, guiado por uma jovem vestida de empregada francesa. Enquanto caminham pelas ruas, eles falam sobre um passado que compartilham e um doloroso triângulo amoroso que continua a assombrá-los.

As people pass by the busy station square, a man wearing a white shirt and a pair of black slacks is standing next to an automatic photo stand. Then a smart, good looking woman passes his side before entering a cafe. The man seems to know the woman. The man follows her in to the cafe. Just a short ten minute conversation over a cup of coffee, shared by the two.

Sanae is a thirteen-year-old girl who lives with her mother and six-year-old sister. She has not recently been able to be open with her fisherman grandfather. Sanae is awoken by the sound of hard rain one night. As she dozes, the rain changes into the flow of the river and she finds herself lying in a fishing boat when she opens her eyes. She hears, from far away, the strains of a harmonica which her grandpa loves... Next morning Sanae is informed that her grandfather has passed away. Frictions are revealed between Sanae and those around her. In her confused state, she runs out of the house leaving for the river where her grandpa's boat is moored...
Gaffer
Rica, a woman who lost her memory is found by the lakeside. Staying with her discoverer Ataru, she wanders about the town seeking for clues to her past. While Rica gets back some framented memories, such as the experience as a hooker and her own pregnancy, Ataru, who secretly has a gender identity disorder, is roaming the town as well for the pursuit of his gender and sexuality. One day, Rica sees a vision of her memory in which she was almost killed by the lakeside and expects that the killer knows her past. These two drifters with a sense of loss undergo a gradual change...
