Uma família de extraterrestres chegam na Terra afim de observar a vida humana. O casal Beldar (Dan Aykroyd) e Prymaat (Jane Curtin) e a filha Connie (Michelle Burke) possuem uma aparência bem diferente dos humanos, e precisam tentar se adaptar a vida dos terrestres.
