In Colombia, Demetrio and his father of the same name live a history of political struggle and violence in relations with a group of priests. During 40 years they'll live and act in the armed conflict between the conservative and the liberals; and pass down the acts of violence through the generations.

"Why are we Colombians who live in Antofagasta afraid?" Filmmaker Angélica Valverde seeks to answer this question by reconstructing her experience in this city, with Rafaela and Carmenza, immigrant women who, like she, came to the north of Chile to realize their dreams. To try to overcome it, to observe how each copes with the fear, this rejection produced.

Andris and Gabriel are two young people from San Basilio de Palenque who travel to Senegal to fulfill their dream of stepping into the land of their ancestors and finding themselves face to face with the historical and cultural origins of their African religion.
