Lorenzo Gattorna

História

Lorenzo Gattorna is a filmmaker, instructor, technician and programmer from New York. He holds a BFA from NYU and an MFA from UIC. He is totally in tune with moving images that embrace revisionist and remodernist perspectives, and has a soft spot for slow cinema. His short films have screened at Analogica, CROSSROADS, CUFF, Echo Park Film Center, FRACTO, Image Forum, LOOP, Microscope Gallery, MUFF and NYFF. He has programmed screenings for Anthology Film Archives, Antimatter, Maysles Cinema, The Nightingale and UnionDocs. From 2012 to 2014, he was the co-director of Sight Unseen in Baltimore. Currently, he is a workshop instructor for DCTV and a house manager/projectionist for the Maysles Documentary Center.

Made primarily from international cinematic archives in combination with literary fragments and original moonlit cinematography filmed across five continents, To the Moon steps lightly through the ages and ideas that people have drawn from the moon to create a meditative work.
