Hana Hajime (ハナ肇), nascido Nonoyama Sadao (野々山定夫) na antiga cidade de Nagasaki, que ficava no velho Condado de Toshima (hoje, Distrito de Toshima, em Tóquio), a 09 de fevereiro de 1930, foi um ator, comediante e músico japonês, formado em engenharia civil, que passou a trabalhar na reconstrução das escolas de Tóquio após a Segunda Guerra Mundial. Inspirado pelo músico de jazz Matsui Hachiro (松井八郎, 1919-76), decide se dedicar a carreira artística, formando em 1955, o grupo cômico de jazz "The Crazy Cats" que atuou em uma série de comédias e programas de TV. Conhecido de Watanabe Susumu (渡辺晋, 1927-87), fundador da Watanabe Productions (渡辺プロダクション), empresa da qual se tornou um dos maiores representantes e instrutores de talentos. Como ator, ganhou o Blue Ribbon Award (O Oscar japonês) de melhor ator de 1988 por seu trabalho em Kaisha Monogatari: Lembranças de Você (会社物語 MEMORIES OF YOU).
Em seus últimos anos de vida, foi praticamente o chefe da Watanabe Productions, condecorado pelo governo imperial com a Medalha de Honra de Faixa Púrpura em 1991, morreu em Tóquio, a 10 de setembro de 1993, aos 63 anos, vítima de câncer no fígado.

Two rival groups of gangsters vie for control of a tiny port town in northern Japan.
