A boy is locked into the Bastille metro station and discovers a clown. They both escape from the station and find themselves center stage at the circus.

Zillionair playboy Terry has built a spaceship so that he can see the galaxy together with his girlfriend Ferma. Along comes a spaced-out alien who needs to find back to his planet. The trio brings along Little Orbit the Astrodog to assist in the search. On their fantastical journey they battle a phantom space-bird, asparagus monsters (with Bronx accents) that want them for lunch, and a race of space-robots on a machine planet.

A história começa num bar ocidental, onde um jovem músico com um banjo começa a contar a história de Lucky Luke e os seus velhos inimigos, os irmãos Dalton: Joe, William, Jack e Averell. Luke, mais uma vez, mandou para a prisão os quatro bandidos. A prisão é também a morada de um cão de guarda chamado Rantanplan...
