The Tweebosbuurt neighbourhood and its demolition after a long struggle with local residents became the epicentre of debate surrounding gentrification and social cleansing in Rotterdam, attracting even the attention of the UN when in 2021 rapporteurs wrote a letter to condemn its removal.

David (17) struggles with himself and the world around him. He is looking for warmth, love and confirmation, but finds it in the wrong place: with Elias (11), the boy next door, whom he sexually abuses. Eventually, David will be confronted with the inevitable consequences of his actions, which will not only have a major impact on himself, but also on the people around him.

A short film based on the short story "De Binocle" by Dutch writer Louis Couperus. It tells the story of a nervous man who on one evening while going to the opera becomes the victim of his own obsessive thoughts.
