In the southern town, a gang of "currency traders" is operating, led by the Chief and his assistant Kozodoyev. A modest Soviet clerk and an exemplary family man Semyon Semyonovich Gorbunkov goes on a foreign cruise on a motor ship, on which Kozodoyev also sailed, who must pick up diamonds in one of the eastern cities and transport them in a plaster hand. But due to a misunderstanding, instead of a swindler, an unsuspecting Gorbunkov falls in the appointed place, and a precious plaster is imposed on him. That's where it all starts...

Based on the operetta of the same name by Isaak Dunayevsky. The port town of one of the small southern countries. After the Nazi occupiers left, the port's berths were empty, the steamers did not smoke, cargo cranes stood. Fearing retaliation for collaborating with enemies, port owner Georg Stan fled the city. After waiting a while and securing the support of local authorities, Stan nonetheless returns - and loading operations begin in the port. While loading oranges, the sailor Yango and the beautiful Stella are preparing for the wedding. Suddenly, Stan makes a proposal to the girl and tricks her into agreeing. Upon learning of the deception, the girl runs away to Yango. Having discovered weapons intended to support fascism in the drawer of the hold, the heroes do everything possible to make the boxes fall to the bottom of the sea.

Based on the short story of the same name by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Petersburg 40s of the XIX century. Summer, white nights. On the banks of the Neva, the Dreamer meets Nastenka. Five nights, walking around the city, young people talk about themselves. Having lost faith in the feelings of the person whom she loves, Nastenka promises the Dreamer in love with her to marry him, but... the other appears, Nastenka is happy again, and the Dreamer is alone again.

Nessa adaptação para o cinema da primeira parte do romance de Fiódor Dostoiévski, Ivan Pyryev capta com maestria as paixões e contradições de um dos personagens mais complexos da extensa lista do romancista russo, o Idiota, tentativa de fusão da figura do Cristo com Dom Quixote.
