Anne-Marie parece levar uma vida fácil com Gilbert, um cirurgião plástico. Mas quando pensa duas vezes, percebe que tudo é pura ilusão e que apenas se sente bem quando corre na praia ou quando está nos braços do seu amante, Leo. Certo dia, Gilbert tem um acidente de carro fatal. Para Anne-Marie são boas notícias, já que pode ir viver com Leo. O problema é que a sua família aparece para consolar a “pobre” viúva.
