Em razão de Iceal ter sempre feito planos de guerra atrás de uma escrivaninha, lhe falta experiência de sobrevivência em combate. Ele é forçado a se adaptar, enquanto é cercado pelo inimigo por todos os lados. Enquanto a força aérea planeja uma arriscada missão de resgate, Iceal é ajudado por um piloto, o capitão Bartholomew Clark (Danny Glover), codinome Birddog, que não pode pousar para apanhar Hambleton devido à atividade inimiga, mas o orienta através do rádio.
