Raixa estate, June 24, 1939. Sergi Forteza, son of the landowner, falls in love with Irina Dols, niece of the foreman, during the celebration of the summer solstice party.

At noon on July 30, 2009, a bomb explodes in a Civil Guard car near the port of the island of Mallorca, killing two agents. The police activate the so-called "Operation Cage": no means of transport can enter or leave the island, including private vessels.

Adrian and Esteban have been missing for a year. The police are at a standstill, despite having found their personal belongings in Cozumel, an island 12 miles away from the Riviera Maya. In Spain during civil war, a seminarian, Teo, is assigned to a small, remote fortress on the top of the mountain. Teo has to share a tiny place with Silverio who is already stationed there. They argue with each other over all aspects, including their personality, values and way of living. As time passes they come to understand each other and strike the subtle balance of everyday lives together. But the balance starts to shake when Solska, a wounded militia woman, comes and lives with them.
