Até a década de 1940 a gestação era um tema feminino-familiar, a barriga era opaca e o acesso ao feto dependia da experiência sensorial da mulher. A ideia de “diagnóstico” transformou este momento. Os exames de imagem chegaram, se aprimoraram e hoje já é possível até imprimir o feto em 3D. O Brasil é pioneiro nesta tecnologia que vem auxiliando em tratamentos médicos, mas também servindo para transformar a gravidez em um espetáculo público.
