Nos anos 60, António (Pedro Frias), um agente da PIDE, é destacado para seguir Aurora (Ágata Pinho) até Paris, uma jovem suspeita de oposicionismo. Decorre o mês de maio de 1968 e, durante a revolta estudantil, os dois jovens apaixonam-se. De regresso ao Porto, a paixão proibida termina bruscamente. Durante décadas, António escreve a Aurora cartas que ela guarda sem abrir. Quando a correspondência é inesperadamente interrompida, ambos desistem de viver.
