Curmudgeons
Still Photographer
The best part of getting old is no longer caring what anybody thinks. Eighty years-old and in assisted living, Ralph Pajovic is involved in a relationship that makes his family anxious. On a crisp, winter day, his unlucky-in-love granddaughter comes for what seems like an ordinary visit. A curmudgeon by nature, Ralph can’t possibly predict the surprise she has in store for him.
Mos Stellarium
Director
Six young refugees talk about their escapes and trips, as well as the new problems they encounter in Luxembourg. Mos Stellarium is a poetic documentary about Dzemil, Milena, Anna, Yunus, Rijad and Eko. In all intimacy, they tell their stories as young refugees. Attached to the travelled landscapes and all the encounters, the memories look back at these strange journey and turn to the future. It is, in a way, the human existence in a universal sense.
The Living Witnesses
Director
The Living Witnesses is a film tying the past to the present: from antisemitism, racism and the Holocaust of the Second World War to the new wave of racism emerging throughout Europe today. Following three living witnesses from the Second World War, survivors of deportation or concentration camps and three students from Luxembourg either born here or immigrated from Syria or the Ivory Coast. With the deportation and the extermination of Jews in mind, the six living witnesses discover how crimes against humanity still play a considerable role in the consciousness of our societies today. We are still living in the post Second World War era, but the “never again” statements seem to fade away.
