Comandante da UPA (ou Exército Insurgente Ucraniano) Danylo Chervonyi entra no terrível massacre do campo de prisioneiros de Stalin, onde ele deve passar pelo inferno e pelas condições desumanas das prisões, julgamento de líderes criminosos, maldade, traição e desespero. Danylo encontra a força para resistir à repressão do comandante do campo de prisioneiros e faz uma tentativa desesperada de se libertar, levantando o primeiro rebelde no campo.
