Life goes quietly in a traditional neighborhood of Madrid. Two beautiful girls, Susana and Casta, trade workers in the area, accepting mature attentions of a pharmacist, Don Hilarion. This affection dislike the young Julian, who is in love with Susan. Third movie version of the famous zarzuela by Tomas Breton. With musical arrangements by Gregorio Garcia Segura, the film tries to update the original story to fit the Madrid of the 60's.

Elena is a writer and is in a relationship with a painter, Fernando. Charo works as a waitress in a hotel and continues to dream of John Sargent, her platonic love, although when she discovers that the actor is gay she returns to her boyfriend Luis. Mara, a model, and Miguel is dating a sick man much older than them. Eugenia is a haute couture dressmaker and cares for her niece Soledad, who wants to be a singer. All of them have ambitions of love, but none is happy with their current situation.

Juan marries prestigious lawyer María José. As she won't give up her career to become a housewife, during their wedding night Juan pretends to leave his job and acts out the role of a traditional housewife himself.

Evelino Galindo, the serious owner of a porcelain store, argues with the womanizer jeweler Orcajo for an insignificant game of dominoes. Evelino, enraged, challenges him the next day to a duel in the gym. But after meditating a bit he starts to get scared. That is why, with the help of his friend Leoncio, he sharpens his wit to find a way to escape from combat. However, the situation is becoming more complicated.

Cristina, a beautiful woman, lives in love with her husband Manuel, who believes the most handsome, charming and, above all, the best husband in the world. Unexpectedly, Manuel dies and, thereafter, Cristina not live but to idealize her husband, going so far as to pay a reasonable service. Until a jilted suitor puts aware of the true personality of her husband. Cristina's reaction was swift, gets a 'gale' and women becomes more attractive and desired of Sevilla.
