Ran Yinxiao

As the second work of young director Ran Yinxiao, "May the Rivers and Seas Flow Upward" is set in Chongqing and tells a different kind of family story between three people who are not related by blood. The film has a time span of nearly a century and records the life trajectories of two generations and two families.

Yi Sheng is an introverted boy who experiences domestic violence at home. He is often bullied and humiliated in school. When he falls in love with another boy, his life undergoes earth-shaking changes. As the two boys grow closer to each other, their secret relationship is revealed by a video. Facing discrimination from their classmates and rejection from their parents, where will they go?
