Baseado no livro Beastie Boys Book (2018), que narra as décadas de amizade do grupo e homenageia o saudoso Adam “MCA” Yauch, o filme foi feito em parceria com Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz e Michael “Mike D” Diamond. O registro aposta em contar a história do trio desde o começo alternando cenas de arquivo dos Beastie Boys com filmagens da apresentação realizada por Ad-Rock e Mike D em 2019.
