A história de Nikuko e Kikuko, uma mãe solteira e sua filha de 11 anos que vivem suas vidas como podem. Descontraída, alegre, apaixonada e sempre pronta para comer algo delicioso, a mãe Nikuko leva consigo seu lema: “O simples é tudo!” Seu jeito alegre e ousado acaba deixando sua filha Kikuko, à beira da puberdade, em situações constrangedoras.
