Assumindo ser uma ninfomaníaca e que não é, de forma alguma, uma pessoa boa, ela narra algumas das aventuras sexuais que vivenciou para justificar o porquê de sua auto avaliação.

Por mais que more em Paris há bastante tempo, Matthew Morgan (Michael Caine) não conhece a língua local. Muito graças à sua esposa, Joan (Jane Alexander), que sempre foi sua intérprete pelas ruas da capital francesa. Entretanto, Joan faleceu há três anos e, desde então, Matthew vive triste e solitário, ocupando seu tempo com aulas de inglês ocasionais. Um dia, ele é ajudado no ônibus por Pauline (Clémence Poésy), uma simpática professora de dança. Não demora muito para que eles se tornem amigos, já que ela lembra a esposa de Matthew e ele lembra o pai de Pauline. Entretanto, tudo muda quando a tristeza fala mais alto e Matthew tenta o suicídio.

19-year-old NVA soldier, Alex Karow, is sent to the West German-East German border in May 1974, shortly after Willy Brandt's resignation and during the World Cup. The army is dominated by brutal rituals, tolerated or used by the officers. Alex understands that the ideals of balance, democracy and human dignity are propaganda. The question of what happens when the other appears in the sights of the Kalashnikov occupies the soldiers day and night, interrupted almost exclusively by the games of the World Cup with the historic encounter between the GDR and the FRG. Alex draws strength from his love for Christine, a confident tractor driver who lives in the neighbouring village. Christine encourages him not to do what his father expects, but to follow his dream of becoming a photographer. But when her brother sends Alex's photo from the border fortifications to the West, everything gets out of control...
Costume Design
Gisela is a young wife and mother, living in a working class German Housing Scheme. She is a supermarket cashier, her husband a delivery driver. The marriage is stale but together they are working their way up into the middle class. George and Gisela evidently knew each other as teenagers. They live on the same scheme and George introduces her to his friend Paul. There is instant mutual attraction. Gisela spontaneously goes to a party that they invite her to that evening, where she and Paul begin a sexual relationship.
