Riquinho Rico (Macaulay Culkin) é o menino mais rico do mundo, mas apesar de amar e ser amado por seus pais, Ricardo Rico (Edward Herrmann) e Regina Rico (Christine Ebersole), ele não é totalmente feliz, pois quer jogar baseball com algumas crianças. Quando seus pais desaparecem após o avião deles cair no Triângulo das Bermudas, Riquinho suspeita que Lawrence Van Dogh (John Larroquette), um executivo das Indústrias Rico, seja o responsável por este "acidente", pois planeja assumir o controle de todas as empresas Rico. Mas com a ajuda de Herbert A.R. Cadbury (Jonathan Hyde), seu fiel mordomo, o Professor Keenbean (Michael McShane), um excêntrico cientista, e alguns amigos da sua idade, Riquinho faz um plano para combater o maléfico esquema de Van Dogh e salvar seus pais.
