Jeff Lebowski, um entusiasta jogador de bowling, vê a sua casa arrombada por dois gangsters que julgam estar perante o multimilionário Jeffrey Lebowski, no intuito de reaver a dívida que a sua mulher tem para o pornógrafo Jackie Treehom.
