Some lives are linked across time, connected by destiny. While aiding old theatre attendant Lin Ge, aspiring dancer Qiu Qian stumbles upon his diary which chronicles the life and memories they shared together since childhood, thus discovering a timeless love story concealed in another dimension.

Three years ago, Han Yuanfang, a young girl, left hometown with a slap on the face from her father and became a barista in Shanghai. Three years later, she returns to the town located in the west of China, making a living as a toll station employee. Living in suburbia, Han meets ebullient girl Dali and clumsy St. John. The three young people share their secrets during their free time. Three restless hearts rush to the future fearlessly.

Yang Fudong, one of the most influential contemporary artists in China, is known for his epic black-and-white films and photographs, which straddle the worlds of contemporary art installation and cinema. Moving Mountains is a 46-minute, black-and-white film, accompanied by photographs from the film set, drawings and props. The film is inspired by the ancient tale of a man, seeking to move a mountain, and extolls the virtues of perseverance and collective action. The artist makes this story a poetic reflection upon human nature and the shifting values to which it can be subjected.

Lin Tianjiao is the top girl in her school. During one of her tests, she resorted to copying from notes, and is spotted by Gao Xiang, who is considered a wayward student. When the note was discovered by the teacher, Gao Xiang chooses to claim responsibility for trying to cheat. Lin Tianjiao feels apologetic towards Gao Xiang, and begins their friendship. Meanwhile, Lin Tianjiao's good friend, Lu Tiantian is courting Ou Xiaoyang. However, due to his poor academic standing, Lin Tianjiao ignores him completely. Classmate Huang Tao is secretly in love with Lin Tianjiao, but is too shy to express it. As a result, he and his best buddy, Li Tao are at loggerheads with Gao Xiang.
