Lloyd Wong

Lloyd Wong

História

Lloyd Wong was a queer Chinese-Canadian visual artist and videomaker who grew up in Saint Catherines, Ontario. He was a vibrant part of the downtown Toronto arts milieu and queer scene. He appears in numerous videos including those made by Richard Fung and John Greyson. Wong was commissioned to make a tape entitled "An Other Country" for the 1990-91 community cable television program Toronto Living With AIDS. Unfortunately, the tape was never completed and he died from an AIDS-related illness in the mid-1990s. Tape fragments he made close to the time of his death have been remixed in an homage to Wong in Lesley Loksi Chan's 2022 short entitled "Untitled".
