Deborah Devyn Chuang or Devyn Chuang (born July 10, 1989) is a Taiwanese American film director, screenwriter, and producer. Her debut short film, Mom if I were a Vampire (2022), premiered at NYC's NewFest and Leeds International Film Festival. Chuang was born in LA but raised in Taipei, Taiwan. Growing up, she was especially drawn to the horror genre and was greatly influenced by the Italian and Japanese horror masters. She attended a boarding high school in Princeton before moving to the Bay Area to attend college. Chuang studied at UC Berkeley, earning a bachelor's degree from the Haas School of Business. She worked as an investment banker, a realtor, and a Michilin starred cook before studying film production at Columbia University in New York City.
