A popular high school band is scouted by a Tokyo-based record company. The band is involved in a car accident, however, shattering many hopes. The band receives a demo tape from a girl who lives on the navy base. They are reinvigorated.

The movie begins in the year 1995 where there were 5 peculiar murder cases. The murderer would always get someone close to the victim to witness how he would strangle the victim from behind with a rope but he would let the witnesses go and speak to the media on how the murders happened. Ito plays the role of Makimura, the police detective who was in charge of investigating the serial murders but failed to catch the cunning murderer and his respected superior ended up being killed as well. 22 years later in 2017 when the case is nearing its statute of limitations, a man named Sonezaki claims to be the culprit for the 1995 murders and even publishes a book titled "Watashi ga satsujinhan desu" to talk about the cases. Despite the disgust towards Sonezaki's actions, the intensive attention showered on him via the media and SNS makes him become the talk of town.

After the death of his grandfather, Koen Shirakawa (Atsushi Ito) quits his job at a bookstore and goes to a temple to become a monk.

O filme apresenta um velho homem vivendo sozinho em uma cidade que se tornou submersa. A água está subindo lentamente, e para manter a sua construção original, coloca cubos em cima de cubos para se manter fora da água. Assim quando ele desce e vê a níveis anteriores de sua casa (hoje submersa) ele relembra vários momentos de sua vida.

Os melhores ninjas de Koga e Ida são escolhidos para lutar uns contra os outros e Gennosuke Albora, o casal apaixonado, é colocado frente a frente aos inimigos. Por séculos eles vivem em guerras da escuridão, com estranhos poderes e habilidades, vivem somente para batalha, eles são Shinobi.

Em 2084 a humanidade aposta todas as fichas em uma mulher que deve salvar o mundo da invasão de uma raça alienígena. Para isso ele terá que voltar a 2002, quando tudo começou e onde conhece um misterioso mercenário. Juntos eles se infiltram em uma base do governo e descobrem o porquê da invasão.
