This is the final short film of Michelangelo Antonioni, starring as himself, as he seeks out the Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarotti's statue of Moses at St Peter's Church in Rome.

In this witty drama, the future of art is examined from two vantage points: the years 1699 and 1999. Roland is an avant-garde artist in Venice, California whose sister, Countess Camilla Volta, lives on their family's estate in Venice, Italy. Their father, the Viscount, is near death, and he announces, to the disappointment of both his offspring, that his home and priceless collection of art have been bequeathed to the Italian government.

Hot aerial sequences accelerate the excitement in "Blue Tornado." Air Force fighter pilots on a test mission are blinded by a dazzling light on a mountainside: Philip (Ted McGinley) crashes and disappears. Flight leader Alex (Dirk Benedict) is debriefed but his inquiry is shelved. More jets mysteriously disappear in the sequestered area. Alex's covert investigation, with the assistance of the beautiful NATO researcher Isabella (Patsy Kensit) is officially subverted by a Committee of Inquiry. So on his own reconnaissance, the defiant Alex hazards a final desperate search for his missing friend, discovering the secrets shrouded on the forbidden mountain!
