Ole Christian Madsen is a Danish movie director and script writer, responsible for several movies and TV series that has achieved success in Denmark. Among the most successful projects are the movies Flammen og Citronen, Prague, Nordkraft and the TV series Rejseholdet and Edderkoppen.

In a moment of cowardice, Detective Carl Mørck sends Rose, his junior colleague in Department Q, to the remote Danish island of Bornholm to answer his old colleague Christian Habersaat's repeated requests. But during his forced retirement ceremony Christian kills himself sending Rose into a journey deep into her own traumatic past. Later, Department Q are embroiled into an old cold case of a girl found dead hanging in a tree.

Danish film has never felt stronger on the international stage than it did with the Dogme films, which at the world premiere of 'The Party' and 'The Idiots' during the Cannes Film Festival in 1998 put Denmark on the film world map.
