Todas as pessoas numa área rural podem contar com Jean-Pierre (François Cluzet), o médico que os atende, cura e os tranquiliza diariamente, sete dias por semana, há anos. Com Jean-Pierre doente, Natalie (Marianne Denicourt), recém-formada, chega da cidade para tentar ajudá-lo e enfrenta dois grandes dilemas: conseguir se adaptar a esta nova vida e, principalmente, substituir o homem que a população acredita ser insubstituível.
