Durante o Regime Nazista um padre é preso e enviado para um campo de concentração. Para sair de lá com vida ele recebe uma condição: negociar com a Igreja Católica uma aliança com Hitler. Em nove dias a sua consciência e sua paz são atormentadas por causa do objetivo nazista e pela lembrança do inferno onde ficou preso. Em nove dias ele decidirá: se permanece vivo, se foge para outro país e principalmente, o futuro de sua nação.

The film talks about the rise and fall of the two most influential protagonists in GDR-politics. In succession, over long stretches even together, Ulbricht and Honecker determined the course of the GDR, of course without ever getting out of being a satellite state to the big brother in Moscow. The film looks for the caesura and crucial points in the power game between Ulbricht and Honecker.
