Em Nova York, nos anos 50, às vésperas do natal, as aventuras de Eloise, menina rica, travessa, mas de bom coração, que mora com sua governanta num hotel de luxo. Eloise tenta aproximar um jovem garçom do hotel de sua amada, uma moça rica que está de casamento marcado com um sujeito nada amigável.

Eloise, de seis anos, mora com a babá inglesa, Nanny, num hotel de alto luxo em Nova York. Inteligente, mas muito levada, a garota leva à loucura os funcionários do lugar com suas travessuras. Aparentemente mimada, Eloise também é uma menina de bom coração que procura aproximar as pessoas e, para tanto, usa de toda a sua esperteza infantil.

Liza Minnelli stars in a television concert directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse. She performs such songs as the title number and "Son of a Preacher Man." The concert concludes with a medley of songs from the film Cabaret (1972). The special, Minnelli and Fosse all won Emmy Awards. Bob Fosse also won the Oscar and Tony that year, in the only instance of any person ever winning all three in a one-month period.

Junie Moon is in the hospital after her face has been disfigured by her deranged boyfriend. There she meets two other patients — Arthur, an epileptic, and Warren, who is gay and uses a wheelchair. The unlikely trio of outcasts decides to move in together and manages to enjoy a series of adventures as they endure various forms of prejudice and struggle with their own issues.

Amos Burke is an L.A. cop who's inherited millions and usually arrives at crime scenes in a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce. Investigating the death of actress Julie Greer, he finds lots of suspects - but the killer's identity surprises him.

Shy milkman Burleigh Sullivan accidentally knocks out drunken Speed McFarlane, a champion boxer who was flirting with Burleigh's sister. The newspapers get hold of the story and photographers even catch Burleigh knock out Speed again. Speed's crooked manager decides to turn Burleigh into a fighter. Burleigh doesn't realize that all of his opponents have been asked to take a dive. Thinking he really is a great fighter, Burleigh develops a swelled head which puts a crimp in his relationship with pretty nightclub singer Polly Pringle. He may finally get his comeuppance when he challenges Speed for the title.

The trouble really begins when the gangster's strong-arm tactics nearly cause a singer to lose his fiancée. A wide variety of entertainers appear including cowboy crooner Gene Autry, baseball hero Joe DiMaggio, and big band stars Cab Calloway, Ted Lewis, and the Kay Thompson Singers. Songs include "Mamma I Wanna Make Rhythm," "Manhattan Merry-Go-Round," "Heaven?," "I Owe You," and "It's Round-up Time in Reno."
