Sua nora, Rie, lhe telefonara avisando que seu filho, Ken-ichi, estava seriamente adoentado e chamando pelo pai em seu leito de morte. No entanto, quando Takata chega à metrópole ele descobre que as palavras de Rie não eram exatamente verdadeiras. Ken-ichi está de fato acamado no hospital, mas recusa-se a ver o pai, com quem havia brigado muitos anos antes.
