Gradually, however, the film undergoes a transformation, ending in dark sadism. Artist Artemio Narro has made a number of installations and videos on the subject of violence. His first fiction feature is not only a commentary on the ever-present violence in Mexico, but also on how we see violence. The changing tone of the film and an ingenious turnaround in the battle of the sexes makes this film a confrontational experience.
Irina, who has had a difficult childhood, as she has seen her own mother die, meets Leonel who, likewise, suffered from a very controlling and violent father. They both fall in love and decide to live together. Her passion finds an end when Leonel starts cheating on her with other women. Thanks to a private detective, Irina discovers it, and panics when she finds out that these lovers have been dying one after another.
