Pattinathar is 1962 Tamil biographical film was directed by K. Somu and produced by Film center with distribution by J. R. Productions. The film script was written by Thanjai Ramaiah Doss and Akilan.

Chidambaram Pillai, a revolutionary leader, starts the first shipping company in India. With the help of this company, he fights against the monopoly of the British over maritime trade out of India.

After the East India Company forces Kattabomman, the king of Panchalankurichi, to pay taxes and be their subordinate, the latter decides to fight against them.

Sivaji Ganesan plays the younger physician to the king (R. Balasubramaniam) and his wife (Padmini) was modelled on Kannagi as the personification of female virtues. The physician is commanded to the palace to treat the king where the princess (M. N. Rajam) falls for him and virtually enslaves him, preventing him from going back to his wife.

Karthavarayuni Katha (transl. Story of Karthavaraya) is a 1958 Indian Telugu-language Hindu mythological film, produced and directed by T. R. Ramanna under the R. R. Pictures banner. It stars N. T. Lalithangi (Bhanumathi) is a queen who rules over her kingdom, showing the world that a woman could rule as effectively as a man. A scheming and ambitious chieftain (Veerappa), who has his eye on the prince's kingdom, plans to kill him in the course of a gypsy dance. He also deputes an attractive dancer (Rajasulochana) to ensnare him, but the prince escapes her wiles and begins to hate women. Lalithangi who wants to win over the hero disguises herself as a yogini and hands over a love letter to the prince. This enrages him and he throws her out. Determined to win his heart, she learns dancing. During an art festival at the palace, Lalithangi succeeds in dancing and changing the prince's mind! How she persuades the prince to fall in love with her and wins him as her life partner form the rest of the plot.

Vaikuntam is a lad who lives in a village. He is a good singer and in love with a lass Nagammal. But Nagammal's brother is against their love. One day he ties Vaikundam to a tree. Vaikundam was rescued by a rich woman who was passing that way. She takes Vaikundam to her city. When she came to know that Vaikundam is talented in singing, she promotes him as a singer. She renames him as Geethamani. He becomes famous and also rich. He neglects his parents and ill treats them. His lover Nagammal tries to commit suicide because of his behaviour. How Geethamani realises his delusion and reconciles with his parents and Nagammal forms the rest of the story.

Amara Deepam is a Tamil film is directed by T. Prakash Rao released in 1956. A educated unemployed person Ashok (Sivaji Ganesan) falls in love with athe daughter Aruna (Savitri) of an wealthy Industrialist.Aruna is taken hostage by her husband to be Sukumar (M.N. Nambiar), and while Ashok trails them to save Aruna, Ashok loses his memory in an accident. Ashok Meets Roopa (Padmini) and they begin to like each other. Sometime later Aruna comes back and as Ashok fails to recognize Aruna things look complicated.The rest of the film deals with how Ashok struggles with his memory and how both Aruna and Roopa try to win him over. Bommi, a princess, falls in love with Veeran, the adopted son of a cobbler, who reciprocates her feelings. However, when her uncle persuades the king to get Bommi married to him, Veeran abducts her.

Manickam is wanted by the army of East India Company. He is absconding and takes refuge in the house of Maheswari. Manickam and Maheswari fall in love with each other. Manickam's father Dharmalingam demands a large dowry from Maheswari's mother, Kanthimathi, who somehow manages to give the amount. However, Dharmalingam comes to know that Kanthimathi is ridiculed by the villagers as a woman of loose moral character. So, he sends back Maheswari to her home. Manickam is helpless because he depends on his father for everything.

Rajan loses his luggage in the train and ends up as a driver in Dharmalingam's family. He falls in love with Gomathy, the eldest daughter of Mullaivaasal Zamindar, his family's arch-rival.

Thirumbi Paar, directed by T. R. Sundaram, was an interesting film in which Sivaji Ganesan played a role with negative shades. The character dabbles in avenues such as journalism and politics. T. P. Muthulakshmi plays the dumb wife of an elderly husband (K. A. Thangavelu) who goes to work early. Sivaji Ganesan, a seducer, who sneaks into the dumb woman’s house, alters the clock to send the husband away well before the usual time. This sequence was mercilessly scissored by the censors and what was left lost its touch of satire and innuendo!

Some producers from Andhra wanted to produce a tamil film featuring MKT. They produced Syamala in 1953 with MKT in the lead role. MKT and S.S.Koko were the only tamilians in this film. Rest of them were all from Andhra. Popular among them were Relangi and S.Varalakshmi. MKT for the first and last time in his life acted with a moustache and resembled very much the famous telugu screen hero, A.Nageswara rao! Shyamala is a 1952 Indian, Tamil-language film directed by B. A. Subba Rao.[2] The film featured M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and S. Varalakshmi in the lead roles.

Amarakavi (English: Immortal Poet) is a 1952 Indian Tamil language film produced and directed by F. Nagoor. The film featured M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and T. R. Rajakumari in the lead roles.

When Sattanathan, a corrupt lawyer, forces Vadivambal to marry his brother, a Chokkalingam Pillai arrives to rescue her and expose Sattanathan's activities.
