Dois filhotes gêmeos de tigre nasceram em meio às ruínas de um templo, que ficam em uma floresta pouco explorada. Logo os irmãos são separados, com o mais feroz sendo vendido a um circo e o mais calmo se tornando o melhor amigo de um garoto, de quem se torna um bicho de estimação. Um acidente faz com que a família do garoto decida por se livrar do tigre, doando-o a um homem que deseja treiná-lo para a briga. Após se tornarem adultos os irmãos se reencontram, quando são colocados para lutar um contra o outro.

Este conto de fadas acompanha um menino andando pelas ruas de uma nublada cidade portuária povoada por estranhas criaturas aterrorizadas por Krank, um cientista louco que sequestra crianças órfãs para roubar seus sonhos, na tentativa de abrandar o processo de envelhecimento.
