Краткое содержание
Concert at Pacifico National Hall, Yokohama, Japan. December 23, 2016.
A career-spanning 1979 concert by Patti Smith and her band from Essen, Germany and broadcast on WDR's Rockpalast. Bonus interview after the concert.
Commander Cody already gained cult status with his band The Lost Planet Airmen by 1980 when he was invited to play the Rockpalast. His music wandered between the genres blues, country rock, boogie, rockabilly and Tex-Mex spiked with his very own wit and humour. The audience witnessed a colourful, high energy concert evening in the WDR Studio A in Cologne. In his known manner, Commander Cody was rocking through the setlist, always with a tongue-in-cheek. That evening he was accompanied by Steve Mackay (saxophone, vocals), Tona Johnson (drums, vocals), Bill Kirchen (guitar, vocals), Doug Killmer (bass, vocals) and Peter Sigel (pedal steel guitar, guitar).
With the concert at the Royal Theater Carré, a beautiful adventure came to an end, 25 sold-out theaters and 4 open-air concerts with strings and wind instruments. The complete film that director Roderik Pattijn made of this musical trip. In the film the band members, all guest musicians but also arranger Tom Trapp talk about this special collaboration.
'Just Let Go' combines full live performances from Lenny Kravitz's 2014 European Tour with interviews and rehearsal footage to give a unique insight into the creative process behind Lenny Kravitz's music and the staging and presentation of his live performances.
The quality of keyboardist/composer/bandleader Joe Zawinul's music remained unparalleled to the very end. This titan of the jazz world – whose innovative and genre-bending sensibilities gave rise to such visionary musical entities as Weather Report and the Zawinul Syndicate – took his final bow on September 11, 2007, at age 75 after a battle with cancer. Recorded in concert at a festival date in Lugano, Switzerland, on July 7, 2007, this aptly titled concert video is unwavering proof that Zawinul, like so many great artists, clearly saved some of his best work for last. This is a perfect companion piece to the 75 audio CD, which garnered a GRAMMY in 2010 for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.
Live at Folken 16.03.2003
Live at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne, Australia, February 26 2021.
Here’s the Sex Pistols – the original Sex Pistols, with Glen Matlock on bass – in an intense, non-stop onslaught of pure punk rock in a 1996 reunion tour, shot at the fabled Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. John Lydon returns as Johnny Rotten, with two-tone hair, red shorts, and no letup from the famous raw, shouted vocals with which he helped invent UK punk in the 1970’s. Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook blast out the music in the Pistols’ trademark fast, tight, loud style, reviving a host of Sex Pistols favourites. While the great punk-rock moment that the Sex Pistols created and owned in the mid-1970’s was brief and fleeting, this concert shows that punk rock – and the band that made it famous – will never die. A searing evening of wild music.
