An Indivisible Heaven (1985)

Это один из лучших американских пропагандистских фильмов, созданных во время Второй мировой войны, как нельзя лучше подошел для режиссера Хауарда Хоукса, добившегося совершенства в постановке масштабных боевых действий. Хоукс рассказывает историю «Мэри Энн», бомбардировщика В-17, и его экипажа. Завораживающая режиссура Хоукса и уверенная, эмоциональная работа всех актеров, особенно Гарфилда и Кэри, полностью захватывают внимание зрителя. Сейчас, к сожалению, картина начинает устаревать, но сценарий Николса достаточно силен, а диалоги наполнены смыслом и достоверны. Для съемок использовалась настоящая «Летающая крепость», позже упавшая в Тихий океан и утерянная, а интерьерные съемки велись в модели стоимостью 40 тыс. долларов. Хоукс сам был ветераном военно-воздушных сил, его собственный опыт и уважение к военной авиации очевидны в каждой сцене.
