Краткое содержание

From the first Native Americans until the late nineteenth century, uncertainty and transience dominated the behavior of visitors to the Great South Bay. Over the last century, this beach "community" has evolved into a varied and complex mix of people and ideas that interact with each other and the natural beach environment. Spanning 150 years of Fire Island history, this documentary tells the story of this unique Island only forty miles from New York City. From shipwrecks to gay parades, Fire Island has been a hideaway for generations of people.

Last Ferry
When a young gay lawyer arrives on Fire Island to explore his sexuality, he becomes witness to a murder after being drugged. A stranger helps him to safety, but he soon discovers his saviour is friends with the killer.
Last Summer
During summer vacation on Fire Island, three young people become very close. When an uncool girl tries to infiltrate the trio's newly found relationship, they construct an elaborate plot that has violent results.
Gay Sex in the 70s
A chronicle of gay culture in New York during the post-Stonewall, pre-AIDs era. Thirteen men and one woman look back at gay life and sex in Manhattan and Fire Island - from Stonewall (June, 1969) to the first reporting on AIDS (June, 1981). They describe the rapid move from repression to celebration, from the removal of shame to joy, the on-going search for "someone," the freedom before AIDS, the friendships, and brotherhood.
Dirty Baby Does Fire Island
A high-octane satirical look at gay men as seen from a very unique POV. Dirty Baby washed up on the shore of the Fire Island Pines and what she witnesses defies description.
