Лишь немногие творения гениального мастера дошли до нас. Авторы фильма стремились воссоздать духовный мир Андрея Рублева.

Фильм основан на средневековой европейской легенде о доблестном рыцаре и ослепительной красавице. Епископ, злой колдун накладывает на них проклятье: по ночам рыцарь превращается в волка, а девушка — в ястреба днем. Слуги Епископа преследуют их уже два года, но удача пока улыбается нашим героям. С помощью маленького воришки Филиппа они надеются вернуться в город, где под неусыпной охраной живет их враг. Им нужно уничтожить злобного колдуна и снять с себя черное проклятье.

Цыганка Эсмеральда своей красотой сводит с ума мужчин. В неё тайно влюблён Клод Фроло, суровый священник из Собора Парижской Богоматери. Воспитанник святого отца, горбун Квазимодо, также очарован смуглой плясуньей. А девушка хранит верность аристократу по прозвищу Феб. Одурманенный ревностью священник ранит его. В преступлении обвиняют Эсмеральду и судьи приговаривают девушку к смерти через повешение. Феб не делает ничего ради её спасения, но на помощь любимой приходит горбун Квазимодо...

Фильм состоит из двух частей. В первой рассказывается об исходе евреев из Египта и получении Моисеем скрижалей с Десятью Заповедями на горе в Синайской пустыне. Во второй части - наше время. В семье, глубоко верующей матери два сына. Джон разделяет религиозные взгляды своей матери. Vanheden and Dynamit-Harry, together with Harry's fiancée Doris, are in Mallorca while Sickan is still in Stockholm. However, Wall-Enberg talks him into doing a break-in at Las Palmas cathedral in Mallorca. Once persuaded, he can't resist the temptation and travels to Mallorca as well. However, Wall-Enberg obviously can't be trusted. Sickan is framed, caught and put in jail. While being escorted home to Sweden again, Vanheden and Harry sets up a plan to break him free. Sickan, once free, wants payback. The gang discover that an antiques dealer called Germann has something to do with the whole thing and that she's also collaborating with Wall-Enberg. The gang then decide to take a closer look at her and her antiques and they discover that there's a heist being planned against the cathedral in Palma.
