Louise Narboni was born in 1978. After studies in Cinema and operatic singing, she turned to shooting musical films. She is also a musical script, assistant to Opera direction and film editor, most notably on Jean-Paul Civeyrac' films, Filles en noir (2010) and Malika s’est envolée (2008). Her work includes: in 2011, Brahms 's Concerto for piano n°2, Dvorak's Symphony n°5, by the Paris Orchestra and Leif Ove Andsnes conducted by Paavo Järvi (France TV/Mezzo), Les Contes du chat perché, opéra rural, directed by Caroline Gauthier, music by Jean-baptiste Singier (Arte).

The Great Ghosts is a cinematographic adaptation of this special project in a breathtaking setting. Balance and movement are the starting points for the choreography, with the famous Foucault Pendulum as the constant center. Bourgeois uses trampolines, a turntable and his famous “seesaw of frivolity”, with which he defies gravity and balances between beauty and fear. How far do the dancers dare to go while playing with Foucault’s Pendulum? And for how long?

The opera is based on the Biblical tale of Samson and Delilah found in Chapter 16 of the Book of Judges in the Old Testament. It is the only opera by Saint-Saëns that is regularly performed. The second act love scene in Delilah's tent is one of the set pieces that define French opera. Two of Delilah's arias are particularly well known: "Printemps qui commence" and "Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix", the latter of which is one of the most popular recital pieces in the mezzo-soprano/contralto repertoire. Staged by greek director Yannis Kokkos and conducted by Valery Gergiev on May 25th, 2016 at the Mariinsky Theatre.
