In this hybrid of live-action and stop-motion animation, a young Hans Christian Andersen goes in search of knowledge in the Garden of Paradise in order to make his studies easier. Each time he falls asleep, he experiences in his dreams the different characters he would later write about in fairy tales including The Little Mermaid, Thumbelina and The Emperor's New Clothes.

На северном полюсе телевизионщики берут интервью у веселого старого эльфа в самый канун Рождества. Не удивляйтесь, но эту телепередачу смотрят дети на Марсе! Их родители Кимар и Монар озабочены поведением детей, которые стали невнимательными, непослушными, неспокойными, начали страдать бессонницей и пристрастились смотреть передачи с Земли. Вскоре Кимар и Монар узнают, что аналогичные симптомы проявляются у всех марсианских детей.
