Jana is forced to live in a foster home and always dreams about family reunion.

Two days before Christmas. Zuzanka and Tomás, friends from a kindergarten wander off during a walk. They admire toys and decoration in shop-windows. Zuzanka shall receive a sledge as a Christmas present and Tomás even a desired little brother. At a shooting gallery Tomás aims at a target on the trunk of a blue elephant which can call in Christmas. The impatient Zuzanka pushes to her friend and he shoots directly to the elephant's red eye. Things which the owner of the shooting gallery warned about happened: the sun popped on the sky, the snow melted and all Christmas shopping has stopped. Both pushful children decide to get a new eye for the elephant so that everything can be set right.

In Vražda v hotelu Excelsior, the interwar period homicide detective squad from Prague investigates the murder of a wealthy woman, Mrs Matoušová, which threatens the reputation of the eponymous luxury hotel popular with Prague’s elite. Even the retired police inspector Mrázek (František Filipovský), who works at the Excelsior as a hotel detective, is unable to help at first. Although the investigation inevitably uncovers the hotel staff’s scheming, Vacátko and his team unerringly follow the trail that leads them to the murderer…

Kastl is a hairdresser but his real passion is his second job as football referee. This job takes all his free time and makes his wife very nervous.

Czech nobleman Petr Vok of Rozmberk (Milos Kopecký) is no longer so young, but his amatory adventures continue to arouse the envy of men and the indignation of respectable ladies. In his "female retinue" at the chateau in Bechyne he has twelve comely girls, but he still manages to seduce the miller's wife and the maid. Lord Vok is in great financial difficulties. His elder brother Vilém advises him to marry a rich woman. Petr surprises him by announcing his intention to marry the very young Katerina of Ludanice.

Lemuel Gulliver (Lubomír Kostelka) has had a car accident and continues his journey across the unknown countryside on foot. On the road he finds a dead rabbit dressed like a man and takes a watch from its waistcoat breast pocket. The half-ruined house that he enters reminds Lemuel of his childhood and brings up a painful memory of a dearly loved girl Markéta who was drowned years ago. Gulliver finds himself in Balnibarbi, a country where he doesn't understand the laws and habits and so continually offends against public decency. It is a day when people are ordered to keep their mouths shut and they force their visitor to follow suit. He faces harsh interrogation and finds it difficult to explain that he is not the rabbit Oscar whose watch has been found in his possession.

Three blue collar workers have a night out in big city Prague.

An artist's studio is descended upon by a group of retired men and a young mother who agree to model in the nude for money. Comedy ensues as the students and the local bureaucracy react to the models, all in need of extra money. Several running gags border on slapstick as the officials and the students don't know what to do with the nude models.

Eight-year old Dominique has a name-day. Her parents have a gift for her, but only give it to her in the evening, when everybody has come home from work. Then she darts out, where her girlfriends are already waiting for her.

A man boards on a tram together with a naked boy. Somebody has stolen the boy's clothes when he was out bathing, leaving him with not even change for the tram. The man has taken care of him and is taking him home. At first nobody notices them but as soon as the people realize they are seeing something out of the ordinary they begin to react to the situation. Some are content with the simple explanation as to why the boy is naked. Others are agitated, for they see the whole situation as something unseemly. An ordinary incident, which might have been passed over in silence, results in a heated argument that turns into a fight. More and more people join in the fight until the police are forced to intervene.

Действие фильма происходит в XVII веке, в Чехии, во время Тридцатилетней войны. Герои фильма — императорский мушкетер Матей, крестьянский парень Петр, завербованный в мушкетеры, и Ленка, молодая крестьянская девушка. Переодетые в брошенные в разгромленном лагере дорогие одежды, Петр, Ленка и Матей попадают в плен и оказываются в графском замке. И в зависимости от того, в какую сторону «подует злобный дух войны», меняется отношение графа к его пленникам. Однако после целого ряда приключений всем троим удается убежать из замка и вернуться к мирной жизни.

По-разному складываются судьбы героев в Праге 1945 года. Один грустит о мирной довоенной жизни. Другой встретил свою любовь. Кто-то пересел из танка в милый сердцу городской трамвайчик… А кому-то судьба уготовила навсегда остаться в земле на чужбине, отдав свою жизнь за жизни других.

Йозеф Швейк, чешский торговец собаками, которого уже один раз выгнали из армии по слабоумию, вновь призван в армию в качестве пушечного мяса для Первой Мировой Войны. Герой фильма — отставной солдат Мартин — вступает в борьбу с чёртом, чтобы спасти принцессу и её служанку, неосторожно продавших свои души за хорошего жениха. Чёрту не удаётся ни перехитрить, ни запугать Мартина — он одерживает над ними полную победу.

Красочная чехословацкая лента о семействе странствующих комедиантов, снятая по повести Ивана Ольбрахта «Брат Зак». Фильм был представлен на Каннском кинофестивале и претендовала на главную награду (Гран-при). Один из героев картины, юноша по имени Фриц, обвинен в покушении на убийство, так как слишком активно защищал свою сестру Ольгу от обидчика. Произошедшее характеризует отношение буржуазного общества к бродячим артистам. Бедные комедианты стараются работать честно, но все равно их обижают все, кому не лень.

История любви молодого рабочего и приехавшей из села на заработки в город девушки, разворачивается на фоне бурных революционных событий 1919-20 годов. Оказавшись в Праге, Анна устраивается служанкой в семью строительного инженера. Вскоре она знакомится с рабочим-сталеваром Томеком, активным членом социал-демократической партии. Через него девушка узнает о коммунистических идеях, которые сразу же оставляют глубокий след в ее душе.

Хотя молодой специалист по этнографии Павел слишком занят своими научными изысканиями, чиновник чехословацкого союза молодёжи Алёна убеждает его возглавить любительский фольклорный ансамбль, который вскоре станет известным на международных молодёжных форумах. Мы встречаемся с молодыми героями этого фильма на первом Всемирном фестивале молодежи в 1947 году. Радостная атмосфера первой встречи молодежи мира вдохновляет их на организацию хореографической группы и хора. На второй Всемирный фестиваль в Будапешт они приезжают уже сплоченным коллективом. Наконец, мы попадем в Берлин, который принял эстафету праздника молодёжи мира в 1951 году.

It's very human and nice story about lofty princess (her father is amiable but incapable - unforgettable performance of S. Neumann) and good, nice, kind and well-principled young king (prince) who tries to make tender her calm heart to get married with her. After being refused (she's very capricious), he conclude to make her better. He start to work as a gardener at her castle (in secret) and successively bring she to her senses...The story continues when already reformed princess and the young king (she learn about his real identity later) have to take refuge from troops, that princess father (old king) has sent (of course he took a bad and mean counsellors advice). They have to take shelter by several ordinary and poor families, which are always very friendly and give them a help... Of course the tale has happy end.

People are afraid of the usurer Chazaj and are convinced that he is the bearer of evil. One day Chazaj pays a visit to the poor artist Simon Jordán and asks him to paint his portrait. Simon agrees but as he progresses with the work his mind conjures up terrible thoughts and in the end he commits suicide. The portrait looks lifelike and Chazaj is content with the results. After Chazaj's death the picture changes hands and brings misfortune to all who own it. The last victim is the young painter Roman who buys Chazaj's portrait in a bazaar. He finds a treasure in the frame and begins to live well off it. The comfortable life suits him so well that he rejects his original artistic aims and becomes a painter of fashionable kitsch.

Master armourer Tomás has young wife Alena, of whom he is very jealous. One day the ruler of town sees Alena and decides to win her over for himself. To get a free hand for his love affairs, he sends Master Tomás to acquire more skills in Flanders. Jealous husband does not know how to secure fidelity of his beautiful wife while he is away, and finally accepts aid of the devil, to whom he signs his soul as a reward. Devil in the disguise of Master Ondrej works in Tomás's workshop and protects Alena against various courtiers and the ruler of town. But finally he falls in love with Alena himself and becomes her lover.

Prague, the beginning of the 17th century. Rozina falls in love with Italian glass worker Nikolo, but after returning home, she gets a message that will never come to Prague. She falls for the promise of an older man to marry her, but when Nikolo does return, the tragic fate of Rozina is sealed.
