Случайно Дима оказался свидетелем того, как в инсцинированной полицией уличной катастрофе погиб Пьетрару, сотрудник рабочей газеты. Спасая Диму от преследования полиции, Лия сама попадает в тюрьму. В это время рабочие завода, не желая подвергаться дальнейшей опасности, объявили забастовку, требуя чтобы взрывчатку вывезли с завода и прекратили выполнять военные заказы.
