На этот раз Варг ищет пропавшую девушку, попутно ввязываясь в дело о пропавших наркотиках. Осложняется все тем, что Карин на последнем месяце беременности, и проблемы с бандитами Веуму совсем не кстати.

На этот раз Варг Веум расследует смерть девочки-иммигрантки, одной из подопечных его подруги Карин. В ходе этого расследования он обнаруживает, что влиятельные люди Бергена замешаны в торговле людьми.

Варг и Карин готовятся к вечеринке, но все планы срывает звонок Хамре. Бывшему подопечному Веума по соцработе, Яну-малышу, грозит обвинение в убийстве приемных родителей. Взяв в заложницы девочку-соседку, Ян укрылся в лесу и требует, чтобы полиция прислала Веума для приговоров.
