AGIM SOPI was born on July 23, 1956. He began his studies at the Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa w Łódźi - Poland. He continued his studies in Zagreb and graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Zagreb (Croatia), in the brunch of film directing, Bachelor and Master level. During the period of the communist regime of the former Yugoslavia, the works of Mr. Sopi have been contested and banned for political motivations. The first feature film 'The Man of Earth' by Mr. Agim Sopi, has been censored and partially annihilated by decree of the executive authorities of ex Yougoslavia. Since 2000, Mr. Agim Sopi was the founder of the company AS Film Production, which has made / mainly with own investments / some feature films and some documentaries. From 2005, Mr. Sopi has had the status of an independent artist. During the period 2010 - 2016, Agim Sopi was an engaged lecturer of Film Theory at the Faculty of Arts at the University 'Hasan Prishtina'. Due to political disagreements , from 2010-2022, Mr. Agim Sopi was banned from shooting a film by the authoritarian Government of Kosovo. From the beginning of 2016, A. Sopi again has the status of an independent artist.

After some time he becomes homesick, eventually leaving his last will he gave to his son that when he dies, his bones will be returned to his native country. He dies near of a cliff at the Black Sea coast. In his native village, the news that Sokol has been returned from emigration are being spread.
